Our Message

We’re participating in the 2019 Walk to End ALS on because we want to unite with our passionate community to celebrate hope toward a future without ALS. We want to honour those we have loved and lost and show our support for the 3,000 Canadians and their families living with this disease.

ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) is a terminal disease that takes away people’s ability to walk, talk, and eventually breathe on their own. This cause is very important to us and your support makes an immediate impact.

Your donation will help to:
  • create a better day-to-day reality for people and families living with ALS by providing community-based support throughout Ontario - like in-home visits and support groups – as well as delivering necessary medical equipment like hospital beds, wheelchairs, stairlifts and other items that increase safety in the home, at no cost to those who need them.

  • further scientific progress by investing in the ALS Canada Research Program, which funds promising ALS research. This program provides peer-reviewed grants to researchers whose work has the greatest potential to advance the field of ALS. There’s been more progress made in ALS research in the last five years than over the last century – we need to keep building on this momentum.
Please support our fundraising efforts by donating to help us reach our team goal.

Support us now – we are stronger together!

Last year, with your help, we raised almost $2,500 for this very worthy cause and obviously one very close to my heart. The ALS Society has done a great deal to make my journey with PMA less financially burdensome along with providing crucial information and support. Our goal this year is $3,000. Please join our team and help us achieve this goal. If you cannot come out that day, please donate whatever you can so that others can continue to receive the same level of help that I have.
