Dear Family and Friends:
A few of us have created a fundraiser to do our part to challenge ALS. As you know ALS is a devastating disease with no treatments or cure. ALS is a terminal disease that takes away peoples ability to walk, talk, and eventually breathe. With your support, we can change all that.
On June 24, 2023, there will be 2 parts to the ALS Awareness Event happening this day with the plans to make this a yearly event:
1. ALS Awareness Ride - The motorcycle ride starts at Motor Sports World – 1375 Clyde Ave, Ottawa. The ride is designed to end at 501 Lacolle Way, Orleans, where there will be a BBQ, silent auction and live music.
Please Note, the DONATION LINK here is also used as the RIDE REGISTRATION link for those on the ride, so provide your name when registering, so we know you have paid. Also, add a comment if you are registering another rider or passenger with their name too. We will have a list of those paid online at the registration table.
- $20 for rider
- $10 for passenger
2. ALS Awareness BBQ - Held at 501 Lacolle Way, Orleans will start at 3 pm for everyone else not attending the motorcycle ride, I am excited to have the Riggins Family BBQ company taking care of the BBQ for the event. Plus, we will have Cory Ell for the music.
Support from our campaign will help to create a better reality for people and families living with ALS by enabling access to support services and equipment. Funds raised will also support research so that one day soon ALS will be a treatable, not terminal disease. Many leading ALS researchers believe that effective treatment options are now a matter of when, not if and that research discovery is limited only by the amount of funding available to pursue it. This makes my fundraiser an important vehicle for progress, so please support my efforts.
Thank you,
David Collins (Event Organizer)
