Fundraising Goal $1,500.00
This year I am participating in the virtual Walk to End ALS. I will be participating in memory of Andrew Foreman who I knew all too briefly. I met Andy in 2007, only for him to pass away in 2013 as a result of this disease. Andy was quite the character, one of a kind, and we got on famously.
As a result of COVID-19, the 'walk' this year will be virtual. However, I will still perform the actual 5km walk as normal using the typical route, only this year I'll do it on my own, maintaining as much distance from society as possible. In addition to the actual walk which I'll perform before June 21, 2020, I will be setting myself a challenge for the day of the virtual walk in recognition of the fact that the virtual walk is on Global ALS Awareness Day. On this day, since I'll be using my lower body for the actual walk, I will be using my upper body by attempting to perform 300 pushups in 1 hour.
Now more than ever, the ALS Society of Canada needs our support to provide hope and help to families affected by ALS. That’s why I’m joining thousands of others as part of a passionate and motivated community participating in the virtual Walk on Global ALS Awareness Day: Sunday, June 21st 2020.  Join me in honouring those we have loved and lost and show your support for the 3,000 Canadians and their families living with this disease.
ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) is a terminal disease that takes away people’s ability to walk, talk, and eventually breathe on their own. This cause is very important to me and your support makes an immediate impact.
Your support will help to:

- create a better day-to-day reality for people and families living with ALS by providing community-based support throughout Ontario - like virtual visits and support groups – as well as necessary medical equipment like hospital beds, wheelchairs, stairlifts and other items that increase safety in the home, at no cost to those who need them.

- further scientific progress by investing in the ALS Canada Research Program, which funds promising ALS research. This program provides peer-reviewed grants to researchers whose work has the greatest potential to advance the field of ALS. There’s been more progress made in ALS research in the last five years than over the last century – we need to keep building on this momentum.

Please consider donating toward my 2020 Virtual Walk to End ALS and help me reach my goal.

ALS doesn’t stop, and neither will we.

Your support is needed now more than ever - we are stronger together! "Fuck you ALS!"
