ALS has no effective treatment or a cure. Over time, people with ALS lose the ability to eat, drink, speak, walk and even breathe. There are approximately 2,500 to 3,000 Canadians living with ALS. Every day two to three Canadians are diagnosed with ALS and every day two to three people die from the disease.
