Let's End ALS!
This summer I will be participating in the Walk to End ALS on June 12th at Ashbridges Bay Park. As you might know, my Mother died in 1995 of ALS within two years of diagnosis. It's truly a devastating disease that takes away someone's ability to walk, talk, eat, swallow and eventually breathe.
To honour her memory and those currently living with the disease, I'll walk with hope for a future without ALS. Please consider supporting me .........no donation is too small! And every donation is appreciated & put to good use.
60% of funds raised will go to create a better day-to-day reality for people and families living with ALS by providing community-based support throughout Ontario - like home visits and support groups – as well as necessary medical equipment like hospital beds, wheelchairs, stairlifts and other items that increase safety in the home, at no cost to those who need them.
40% of funds raised will be matched dollar for dollar by Brain Canada (up to $1,000,000) and will further scientific progress by investing in the ALS Canada Research Program, which funds promising ALS research. This program provides peer-reviewed grants to researchers whose work has the greatest potential to advance the field of ALS. There’s been more progress made in ALS research in the last five years than over the last century – we need to keep building on this momentum.
Join me in making a difference. Please consider donating to my fundraising page as we work towards a future without ALS.
Thank you, Suzanne
